JOJO2K presents: your own personal Weather Channel. Set your location via area name or zip code, press play on the music station directly beneath the main weather info view and be transported to simpler times :) Unless the app is warning of a storm in your area. Then please disregard the part about simpler times and please seek shelter. You can also customize which views show up in the rotation, you can pause on one screen or do any number of things, go wild.

This is I think now a fork of a fork of a fork of a project if I understand correctly. For some reason I have very vivid memories of seeing the Weather Channel playing in travel stations whenever my family would go on vacation here or there. It was fun seeing the differences in weather and whatnot around the country. I was certainly fascinated whenever I found that there are so many people and projects out there that also appreciate the Weather Channel in similar ways.

The original version of this project that I found had none of the original music to play along with it, and as some archive sites will remind you, music is half the experience of the Weather Channel. I found I wasn't listening to my last radio station a whole lot recently, and I've also become fascinated with Weather Channel stuff recently since I saw some of the REAL equipment running live in person at VCFSW - so I'm switching gears and providing a double treat for you: another source for this Weather Channel recreation to run, along with a fuller selection of tracks to play along with it :)

This project also serves another purpose: I plan to set up a TV at my place with an old PC playing this 24/7 so I can have a fun way to check the weather, but I will probably also set it up on another computer running in my office at work for a fun piece of ambiance. (I'll post pics of those when I finalize those pieces of this project!)
